Dofollow Social

Got backlinks … now what?

I’ve obtained a good mixture of backlinks:

Dofollow Blogs
DoFollow Forums
.edu sites
Social Bookmarking
etc.

Now what do I do with them? It seems Google is not picking them up. Someone once mentioned Indexing Backlinks – how is this attained?

You could check to see if the pages linking to your site are indexed in Google, if not you could use the ‘add url’ function to submit those pages to Google.

Taking an extra pro active step, you could also submit those pages linking to your site to various sites?

This will help the pages that link to you, which will help you.

Good luck

Social Theory and Social Change

Social Theory and Social Change

$53.48

Understanding and explaining the causes and consequences of social change has been an important concern of social theorists throughout the history of sociology. This wide-ranging book focuses on a rich and diverse body of theoretical work, from Adam Smith and Comte to Lyotard and Baudrillard, in order to demonstrate the relevance of both classical and contemporary social theory to the wider social world and to show that, while social theory may not deliver all the answers we might like, it does improve the quality of the questions we can ask about how social change comes about, what its effects are, and where it is leading us.

As the implementers of government social policy in South Africa, social work professionals have been at the forefront of social change and new approaches since 1994. This study surveys the current state of job satisfaction among social workers and reports on education programs and hiring trends for people in training in the field. The new, national, standardized Bachelor of Social Work degree is shown to be a success, and enrollment and graduation statistics confirm that African females, rather than white females, are now the dominant student profile. Enrollment has also increased significantly, but a worrisome trend also shows higher numbers of graduates being lost to emigration.

Social Reality

Social Reality

$10.98

Social reality is currently a hotly debated topic not only in social science, but also in philosophy and the other humanities. Finn Collin, in this concise guide, asks if social reality is created by the way social agents conceive of it? Is there a difference between the kind of existence attributed to social and to physical facts – do physical facts enjoy a more independent existence? To what extent is social reality a matter of social convention. Finn Collin considers a number of traditional doctrines which support the constructivist position that social reality is generated by our ‘interpretation’ of it. He also examines the way social facts are contingent upon the meaning invested in them by social agents; the nature of social convention; the status of social facts as symbolic; the ways in which socially shared language is claimed to generate the reality described, as well as the limitations of some of the over-ambitious popular arguments for social constructivism.

Social Development, Social Inequalities, and Social Justice

Social Development, Social Inequalities, and Social Justice

$83.98

This volume considers previously separate bodies of research on social justice, social equality, and social development. Eminent scholars from a variety of disciplines discuss the latest research to help us understand the relation between social inequalities and social development. In so doing, the book documents the powerful ways that social inequalities frame development and explores the conflicts that arise in the context of these inequalities. It illustrates how people around the world make judgments about these conditions and how they resist or change the practices they deem unjust. By bringing together these perspectives, the editors hope to demonstrate how understanding social development carries with it the possibility of change and social justice. The book considers processes of social development. It examines Piaget’s ideas about morality and relates them to children’s thinking about social rights. An interdisciplinary review of research from developmental, social, and health psychology, social policy, anthropology, and philosophy, follows this introduction. Each contributor examines the historical, developmental, and social processes that influence beliefs regarding social justice and equality and the consequences of living in conditions of injustice. The book considers: Inequalities in educational and health care opportunities. Unequal rights and harassment and their effects on minorities. The hardships and inequalities encountered by women. Intended for researchers and advanced students in developmental, social, cultural, and health psychology, policy, anthropology, and philosophy interested in a world that is socially just.

Social Capital

Social Capital

$95.48

The concept of ‘social capital’ is currently the focus of an explosion of interest in the research and policy community. It refers to the social networks, informal structures and norms that facilitate individual and collective action. This explosion of interest is driven by a growing body of evidence that social capital has enormous effects on economic growth, health, crime and even the effectiveness and functioning of governments. David Halpern provides a guide through the many and sometimes confusing definitions of social capital. The various literatures examining the empirical consequences of social capital are brought together from across academic disciplines to demonstrate a remarkable range of effects. A model is then presented to account for the causal pathways that create social capital, and that lead from social capital to its outcomes. International evidence is used to establish whether social capital is on the decline, and the thorny question of whether social capital can harm or exclude is also examined. Finally, the policy implications are considered, including how social capital can be measured, created and utilized. Social Capital offers an overview of one of the most important and exciting areas to emerge out of the social sciences in many years. It assumes no previous knowledge of the literature or statistics, and will be of interest to students and researchers in politics, sociology, social administration and social psychology and to the general reader interested in finding out more about how social capital affects all our lives.

Social Work and Social Change in Canada

Social Work and Social Change in Canada

$3.98

Social problems are usually the result of a variety of factors ranging from the private to the public in nature, yet social workers all too often deal only with the problems of individuals. Social Work and Social Change in Canada challenges this and urges social work practitioners to assume responsibility for facilitating structural changes by working the "middle ground" between private troubles and public issues. This book will help practitioners to "empower" client individuals, families or groups to address private troubles. In the process practitioners are persuaded to work in partnership with existing social movements to bring about the necessary changes for an improved social and therefore, personal environment. Social Work and Social Change in Canada devotes a chapter to each of the women’s, labour, and native movements, and explores the ways in which social workers can involve themselves as professionals with these vital means to change.

Social Theory, Social Change and Social Work

Social Theory, Social Change and Social Work

$217.98

Social work is currently experiencing an important period of change–in its priorities, organization and day-to-day practices. Increasingly, notions of care management, monitoring and evaluation and inter-agency coordination have become more dominant, requiring new skills and new forms of knowledge to the extent that the image of the generic social worker working in the unified agency and drawing upon casework, informed by particular forms of psychology and displaying particular skills in human relationships, seems outmoded. "Social Theory, " "Social Change and Social Work" has two inter-related themes. First to account for and analyze current changes in social work and secondly, to assess how much recent developments in social theory can contribute to their interpretation.

Social Representations: Essays in Social Psychology

Social Representations: Essays in Social Psychology

$30.48

Considered the leading contemporary European social psychologist for his groundbreaking work on social influence and crowd psychology, Serge Moscovici has played a definitive role in shaping the trajectory of modern social inquiry. Bringing together the key texts in which he outlines and defines his benchmark theory of social representationsincluding several essays never previously published in Englishhis indispensable sourcebook illustrates the enormous range and scope of Moscovici’s work. Moscovici purports a theory of social representations remarkably distinct from the dominant themes in contemporary U.S. social psychology. In contrast to the traditionally individualistic emphasis, Moscovici’s work is embedded in a broader social and cultural tradition and is passionately concerned with the social context in which meaning is constructed and lives are enacted. His radical and lucid approach offers fresh and multifarious ways of seeing the world while his clear and coherent perspective provides a rich contribution to a discipline which has been notoriously fragmented. Addressing contemporary social phenomena rather than being trapped within the artificial limits of laboratory experimentation, Moscovici draws upon the diverse traditions of the wider social sciences, making him a primary voice within the community of social theorists. Sure to fascinate any researcher, scholar, student, or practitioner of social psychology, Social Representations provides a representative and long overdue collection of Moscovici’s unique and important work.

The Disappearance of the Social in American Social Psychology

$53.98

In his critical history of American social psychology, John Greenwood reviews the original conception of the social dimensions of cognition, emotion and behavior, and of the discipline of social psychology itself, as embraced by early twentieth century American social psychologists. He documents how the once broadly defined conception of social psychological phenomena came to be progressively neglected as the century developed, till hardly any trace of the original conception of the "social" remains in contemporary American psychology.

Social Systems and Social Regulations

Social Systems and Social Regulations

$43.98

In Social Systems and Social Regulations, Elaine Cumming describes attitudes of patients and clients toward health and welfare organizations. The focus is on the complex relationships between regulative agents, as revealed by the movement of clients through health and welfare systems. The author observes how doctors, clergy members, police officers, welfare officers, psychiatrists, social workers, and other social agents relate to one another and to their clients and charges. Cumming selected Syracuse, New York, typical of many middle-sized American cities of the 1960s, for her field studies. These involved several agencies and thousands of individuals. The result is a thoughtful analysis that can readily be applied to many aspects of the entire social system. Who are the clients? What are their problems? How do agents respond to them? These are some of the topics dealt with at length. From the view point of the agents, the author discusses how they see their own roles in the overall regulative system; how areas of operation interact and overlap; how the network of agencies changed over a five year period; what major problems remained to be overcome at the time; and what changes could and should have been made. When initially published, this was a new examination of the regulative system in America. Students and scholars will still find this work invaluable in the study of social control. Professionals will find many points for contrast and comparison and an analytical framework for evaluating and solving problems faced in health and welfare operations throughout the country.
